Yummy gemberbrownies (yup, rond)

Maybe it's a bit early times to start with Halloween-recipes, but why not? And besides, I write for the schoolpaper since this year. And of course there'll be one of my recipes in every issue! This schoolpapers theme is Halloweend and that's why I already started to try some recipes. This cake is not difficult at all, but the effect is really cool and the cake is sooo sticky,I made this cake before, and you can find the recipe (and how-to pics) here. Of course I made it without the spiderwebs. By the way, I spread a thick layer of dark chocolate over the cake and then made an icing (with icing sugar and water) to 'draw' with.

Wat vind je ervan? // Do you like it?

Mochachino-brownies with mocca sauce

Super super lekker.

First weekend: celebrate it! And what is impossible to miss? Yeah, brownies :D So maybe this is a recipe that will take you a little longer then the recipes I normally post. But the result will be there. Super super delicious.

Chocolate vs. quark: Brownies

Heee,

Although today was the start of a four-day weekend, I was feeling a but grumpy. maybe because of the tons of homework that are waiting for me. So I just played a bit with my cat in the sun, when I decided to bake something. That always makes me happy. Yeah sure, also this time. It's brownies with quark. It should be marbled, but somehow the batter became too stiff and it wouldn't mix. So now it's just a thin layer. Anyway, it's delicious. I'll give you the recipe.

What you need:

CAKE
  • 190 gr butter
  • 45 gr cacoa
  • 220 gr sugar
  • 2 eggs, slighly stirred
  • 125 gr flour
QUARKMIX
  • 250 ml quark
  • 50 gr sugar
  • 1 egg
  • optional: almondextract, gives it an extra sweet touch
What you do:
  1. Preheat the over at 180 °C,
  2. Melt the butter in a pan,
  3. Take the pan off the gas and spoon the cacoa and sugar trough the melted butter,
  4. Stir the eggs trough it, add the flour and mix it till it's a smooth batter,
  5. Spoon the batter in a pastrymould, square or round, whatever you like,
  6. Stir the quark with the sugar and egg, also add the almond extract if you want to,
  7. Drip the mix on the batter and try to marble it by making ratational movements,
  8. Bake the brownies 35 minutes,
  9. Get them out of the oven, let them cool down and...
  10. BON APPETIT!
Oh, I want to make a little note to this recipe. The quarklayer was a bit too thin in my opinion. The contrast was not big enough. So you might use a bit more quark. And maybe it's even a better idea to bake the brownies and then let the quark coagulate, like in cheesecake. Just a little tip. I'll try it next time and tell you the result (:

Brownies+chocolate chip cookies = yummy!

Salut!
As soon as Maartje had told me about a recipe she had seen, where the best of both worlds, brownies ànd chocolate chip cookies, were mixed, we dicided that we had to try it during the holidays (:
Yesterday was the big day hahaha. I went to Maartje and we picked up Laura from the busstation. First we ate icecream, 'cause the weather in Holland is warm in some kind of weird way. And we bought a packet browniemix Dr. Oetker (yeah, lazy us x) and chocolate chip cookies.
Now I'll just give you the recipe and show you the picture, so you can start mouth watering and bake the brownies yourself:

What to do:

  1. Just follow the instructions on the browniemix-pack. Which for us meant mixing 50 gr butter trough it and then mixing it with 100 ml water.
  2. Then crumble the chocolate chip cookies and spread them trough the batter. Of course you can use as much cookies as you want (:
  3. Ohhyeah, that was it. Just everything you should do to make these delicious chocolate chip cookie brownies. Isn't it just too easy?
  4. Oh haha, I knew I forgot something. You should of course bake them xd.
    160°C, 40 minutes.
Woahhh, so sticky!

As you can see, it's very sticky inside, with crunchy bits.

Au revoir x

Coffee cupcakes

Heeee!

You wanna get to know my idea of baking today? Grabbing a pack of brownies and then making my own delicious cappuccino-frosting hahaha (:
I love holidays, I just have the time for everything I would love to do. So this morning I woke up with the idea that I would like to bake cupcakes. Because... it's such a long time ago I baked cupcakes. So I foldered trough some bakingbooks to get some inspiration. And then I just started to follow my own plan (:

This was kinda my idea of baking today: grab a pack of browniemix, mix the powder with water and... Yeahh ready: brownies. Hahahahah, that's it. But of course I wanted to make it me and I wanted to make it look cute. This is what I did for the frosting/cream:
  1. Melt 30 gr butter (in the microwave, or in a pan),
  2. Mix 1,5 tablespoon trough the melted butter,
  3. Solve 2 tablespoons of coffepowder in the hot mix,
  4. Then mix it all with 100 gr of icing sugar and make it a smooth cream.
The mix of airy brownies and the smooth cream is amazing, so delicious. So is the combination of coffee and chocolate.

Bisous, Janna

Ps. Queensday was awesome. I went to the city with a few friends, we had a lot of fun. We were wearing orange of course. Toghether with my friend Mylène we had orange knee hihg socks. Hahaha, a lot of people in the city said: "Ohh, gosh, look those sock" Hahhaa, really, I loved it. Everywhere was music, so it was kinda partyhardy (: I wished it was queensday again!

Recipe & Outfit

Hey you!
How are you?

Really the weather in Holland is so awful. It's raining raining raining... But I also so a little bit of sunshine, so maybe there will be a rainbow :3
Anyway, some of you asked the recipe for the gingerbrownies I made a few days ago. So I'll give you it. Together with a few action-photos, hahaha. But don't tell everybody the recipe, it must keep a bit secret (:
But at first I would like to show a few pictures of my outfit today...

It's kinda casual, but as I said the weather isn't that great. And I really like my knee high socks <3

My golden cuff and flowery ring! (:

So, the recipe...

You need:

  • 125 gr butter
  • 200 gr dark chocolate
  • 200 gr christal-sugar
  • 4 eggs, slightly whipped
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla-extract (or vanilla-sugar)
  • 50 gr ginger preserved by sugar, in syrup, in small pieces
  • 1 tablespoon of syrup extra
What you should do to make these delicious brownies:
  1. Preheat the over in 180 °C,
  2. Melt the chocolate together with the butter, keep stirring it so it doesn't burn,
  3. Take the saucepan from the gas and stir the sugar through the mix,
  4. Whip the eggs, vanilla-extract and ginger-syrup trough the melted chocolate,
  5. Spoon the pieces of ginger and the flower through the total mix
  6. Put the batter in the greased pastry mould,
  7. Bake the brownies for  30 to 35 minutes
Tip: If you want to have your brownies very sticky, you could bake them as short as possible. But never too short, or they will collapse...

step 2

don't forget to taste a little bit (:

step 3

step 4

step 5

and ofcourse the result, yummy!

Gingerbrownies

Dear you,

Waaaaa, they smelled so great, but I had to wait until they were finished. It was almost unebearable... I had been cleaning my room since straight away after breakfast. And even then I had to do a lot of homework. But by the time of three o'clock PM I was so bored, I wanted to do something fun. And I decided to take a look in one of the cookbooks I have in my bookcase. While flipping through the pages, I saw a recipe for brownies with ginger. And I was kinda sure we had ginger preserved by sugar in syrup... Which smells so delicious!

Yummieeee! (:

Oohh, I love brownies. They are so supersticky. And the taste of ginger just makes it even more perfect.

How did you spend your sunday?
Bisous, Janna

Ginger; it doesnt only smell and taste good,

High tea (:

Yesertday was awesome! A few weeks ago Laura and I said it would be really cool to have a high tea. So we invited a lot of friends. Ryanne said we could come to her house, which is really kind because we were with a lot of girls (: And the party could be started!

Int he morning I made brownies, the same sticky brownies from a week ago. But now I decorated it a bit Easter-like. And yeahh, I used the bunnies from the chocolatesprinkles (:

Now I would really like to post some pictures of the creations of my friends. But I don't have any pictures on my camera. So as soon as my friends send my their pictures, I'll upload them. I do have some pictures of the amazing bunch of people I was with:

As soon as I've ot pictures, I'll show you!

PS. Never try to make brownies without butter. It's gonna be a big hard mass and it'll look like this:

Sticky Brownies

Dear everyone,

Yesterday I promised to upload some pictures. And now the time has come. Ohh, I didn't even tell you what I baked. I baked BROWNIES. I went to the library and picked a book about brownies. And I love the book. It's full of great recipies. When I saw one called 'sticky brownies', I immediately looked for all the ingredients at home and started baking.
Soon it turned out that you needed to add molasses. And I think that's what make these brownies so supersticky.

And here comes the golden key: when you put brownies, chocolatecake or anything with chocolate for one night in the fridge, it'll become even more sticky then it was before. So I kinda ahad a hard time, because I wanted to eat the brownies so badly. But it was worth it all!

Sundaymorning, I surprised my mum, dad and brother with brownies and coffee. They loved it. And it makes me so happy to see someone's face when they eat something they really like. It was priceless!

Doesn't it look delicious?!

Did you do anything fun this weekend?

xx Janna

Brownie cupcakes with a sweet cappuccino-icing

Dear friends,

This weekend I was kinda lazy and only wanted to decorate my cupcakes.
So I bought a brownie-mix, which you only have to mix with some water.

I baked them 30 minutes in stead of 40 minutes, so they were supersticky (:

Now I'm gonna tell you something about icings.
It's very simple to make.
You only have to add icing sugar to the water until it's a thick mass.
The difference with frostings is that forstings keep soft, icings will get crispy after a few hours.

This incing is made with:
  • Water
  • Icing Sugar
  • Instant cappuccino-powder
I finished wit a touch of cacoa and icing sugar!
