Tip & question: iced cappuccino

Tip: cappuccino with cinnamon

Yummy!

PS. Weet jij nog een lekker koffierecept?

PS. Do you know a lovely coffee recipe?

Accent

Time for trying some new things. After a week of writing articles, making analyses of books and having a oral Englisch exam (which turned out very well, by the way :), it is time to chill out this evening. So I took some pictures and started editing. I quite like the result. And yes, my hair really is this colour! I dyed it with henna again last weekend and it's red to the max.
Do you like the pictures? Do you have any tips?

Caramel Coffee

Koffie in caféetjes: heerlijk!

Coffee in cafés: delicious! But quite expensive. When I was drinking a cup lovely of cappuccino in a small coffee corner in Newcastle, I wondered if I could make something like that myself. And yes I can. It's not hard at all and delicious after a cold day (or a warmer day of course :P)
You need: caramel syrup, coffee, milk

Mochachino-brownies with mocca sauce

Super super lekker.

First weekend: celebrate it! And what is impossible to miss? Yeah, brownies :D So maybe this is a recipe that will take you a little longer then the recipes I normally post. But the result will be there. Super super delicious.

Mocca walnut cookies

In my opinion, the two best ingredients are nuts and coffee. So this recipe is just like it's made for me. Coffee and walnuts: could it possibly be better? I don't think so!

You need:
  • 120 gr butter
  • 80 gr brown sugar
  • 100 gr chrystal sugar
  • 1 teaspoon almond essence
  • 1 teaspoon coffeepowder, dissolved in hot water
  • 1 egg
  • 150 gr flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 50 gr milk chocolate
  • 50 gr walnuts

  • and later I added approximately 35 gr self-raising flour
  • you could decorate every cookie with a walnut for the extra touch!

1. Mix the butter with the brown sugar and the crystal sugar.

2. Sieve the flour trough it, together with the baking powder.

3. Stir the egg in one glass.
4. Make the coffee in another glass.
5. Mix the two things together and mix it trough the dough.

6. Eeeh this is chocolate xd.
It does look a bit nasty, but is certainly isn't.
Just spoon in trough the dough.

7. Chop the walnuts into tiny pieces and spoon in trough the cookiedough.

8. If you put everything together, it should look like this: smooth but not to sticky.

So, this shouldn't be too hard. But my dough was way to sticky. I couldn't even make small balls of it. So there was a little problem to solve. Wasn't too difficult. I just add one extra step:

9. Add approximately 35 gr self-raising flour to the batter. Just add it until the cookiedough isn't that sticky anymore. But of course it shouldn't be solid as concrete xd. Just use your brains.

The cookies are so yummy. Perfect with a cup of coffee.
I know see there's a little crack in it hehe, oops.

The cookies are so delicious. They're really different from what I had expected. A bit soft from the inside. But I like that. Although I like it better when the cookies are a bit more crunchy. Anyway, just lovely!

I've got some great posts for the near future, so see you later xx

Chocolate Cake & Pearls

Two of my friends are 1,5 year together, so... time for a party! I wanted to give them something special, and since I like to bake chocolate cake, I made one for them. With a little shiny love-decoration (:
By the way, it's one of the easiest cakes ever, but super sticky. I love it. I've had a lot of success with this cake on bdays and other special occassions. Or just in the middle of the week xd.

You need:
  • 300 gr dark chocolate
  • 200 gr butter
  • 3 à 4 tablespoons coffee powder
  • 4 eggs
  • 200 gr brown sugar
  • 150 gr self-raising flour
  • a bit of chocolate for the heart, but I just did that intuitive. You can just use as much as you like. Of course you can make every shape you want.
  • silver and gold pearls

1. Melt the butter and the chocolate

2. When the it's become a smooth chocolatebutter, add the coffee powder

3. Stir the eggs until you see bubbles.

4. Add the brown sugar and the little bit of salt.

5. Add the chocolate/coffee-butter to the eggs.
And sieve the flour trough it.

6. Cover the tin in baking paper.
Do this with cuts in the sides, like you see in the picture.

While you cover the tin, preheat the over on 175°C.

Bake the cake for 30 minutes.
Cool it down in the fridge, to make it sticky, yum yum!

And then the final pic, the result.
PADADAPADAPAAAM...

Isn't it cute?

The cake was delicious, if I can say it myself... My friends loved it, so I guess I can :D The party was great. We could sit outside all night. I enjoyed it a lot!

Coffee cupcakes

Heeee!

You wanna get to know my idea of baking today? Grabbing a pack of brownies and then making my own delicious cappuccino-frosting hahaha (:
I love holidays, I just have the time for everything I would love to do. So this morning I woke up with the idea that I would like to bake cupcakes. Because... it's such a long time ago I baked cupcakes. So I foldered trough some bakingbooks to get some inspiration. And then I just started to follow my own plan (:

This was kinda my idea of baking today: grab a pack of browniemix, mix the powder with water and... Yeahh ready: brownies. Hahahahah, that's it. But of course I wanted to make it me and I wanted to make it look cute. This is what I did for the frosting/cream:
  1. Melt 30 gr butter (in the microwave, or in a pan),
  2. Mix 1,5 tablespoon trough the melted butter,
  3. Solve 2 tablespoons of coffepowder in the hot mix,
  4. Then mix it all with 100 gr of icing sugar and make it a smooth cream.
The mix of airy brownies and the smooth cream is amazing, so delicious. So is the combination of coffee and chocolate.

Ps. Queensday was awesome. I went to the city with a few friends, we had a lot of fun. We were wearing orange of course. Toghether with my friend Mylène we had orange knee hihg socks. Hahaha, a lot of people in the city said: "Ohh, gosh, look those sock" Hahhaa, really, I loved it. Everywhere was music, so it was kinda partyhardy (: I wished it was queensday again!

Cup of coffee

Dear you,

I just wanted to post a picture of my ring. It isn't new or anything. But I kinda refound it in my jewellerybox. And I asked myself like a thousend times why I left it alone for such a long time (: And a lot of my friends thought the same as everyone told me today it's so cute.

I bought it in Köln. Christmas 2010, we went there with school. And everytime I wear this ring, I think about the great time we had there. I think Köln is one of the most fantastic cities there is.
And the best thing is maybe the it's possible to pick up the cup because there's a little magnet under it. Aaawhh, it's so cute!

Do you like it? Do you have any jewellery like this?

Chocolatecake

Dear followers,

I was in a guestfamily since friday because of the MEP. That's the abbreviation for Model European Parliament. I'm not gonna tell you all about it, only if you're interested. But I really had four great days. So yesertday I came back to my own family. And today was horrible because I was tired of my last four days. Anyway, when I came home from school, I decided to surprise my parents & brother with chocolatecake.

It's absolutely fantastic (okay, this isn't very modest, but I loooove chocolatecake).

I think it kinda looks like a moon-landscape ;P

I put the cake outside on a chair, because I think cold chocolatecake is even better than hot cake. And it became supersmooth from the inside.

PS. I forgot to tell you that I mixed some coffee-powder trough the pastry. Love it!

Brownie cupcakes with a sweet cappuccino-icing

Dear friends,

This weekend I was kinda lazy and only wanted to decorate my cupcakes.
So I bought a brownie-mix, which you only have to mix with some water.

I baked them 30 minutes in stead of 40 minutes, so they were supersticky (:

Now I'm gonna tell you something about icings.
It's very simple to make.
You only have to add icing sugar to the water until it's a thick mass.
The difference with frostings is that forstings keep soft, icings will get crispy after a few hours.

This incing is made with:
  • Water
  • Icing Sugar
  • Instant cappuccino-powder
I finished wit a touch of cacoa and icing sugar!

Cappuccino-frosting

Dear friends,

I love cappuccino, and I love cupcakes.
So I thought to myself; "Why shouldn't I mix these two things?"
For the cake itself you could use anything: normal cake or some other cake-mix.
The frosting is very easy and really delicious.

Ingredients:
  • Butter
  • Instant cappuccino powder
  • Suger
Mix these things and create a smooth cream.
You can add the suger and powder as much as you like.

It's delicious to serve it with a cup of coffee!
