Beautiful Bretagne

I'm back on track. De afgelopen week was ik in Bretagne, Frankrijk. De kust van Bretagne vind ik echt het allermooiste stukje van Frankrijk. Golven, kliffen, strand, wauw! We verbleven in een huisje in een klein dorpje vlak bij de kust. Overdag hebben we gewandeld en 's avond konden we in de tuin zitten met een heerlijk stukje pain français. Ik laat jullie graag zien hoe mooi Bretagne is. De zon heeft, op de laatste dag na, alleen maar geschenen. Het leek wel lente! Wat vind je van de foto's?

I'm back on track. Last week I was in Bretagne, France. I think the coast of Bretagne is the most beautiful part of France. Waves, cliffs, beach, wow! We stayed in a cottage in a tiny village near the coast. During the day we took walks and in the evening we could sit in the garden with a lovely piece of pain français. I'd love to show you how beautiful Bretagne is. We've only had sunshine, except the last day. It seemed to be spring! What do you think of the pictures?

Een tijdje geleden begon ik foto's te verzamelen voor een fotoboekje. Ik kwam zoveel prachtige foto's tegen en ik heb hier een mooi boekje van gemaakt. Natuurlijk deel ik deze ook heel graag op mijn blog. De foto hierboven is mijn favoriet. De foto is genomen tijdens een wandelvakantie in Bretagne, Frankrijk. Het licht was perfect en ik vind het zo gaaf dat er net een meeuw aan komt vliegen!

A while ago I started collecting pictures for a little photo book. I came across so many gorgeous pictures and I made a beautiful book. Of course I'd like to share these pictures on my blog as well. The picture above is my favourite. I took it on a wandervacation in Bretagne, France. The light was perfect and I love the sea-gull!

Last day as a 15-year old

Came across this pic from the summerholidays in France, it was such a lovely time. My mum took this pic while I was photographing. My brother and I played on these huge strawbales, it was a lot of fun. 

Anyway, I thought I'd just do a quick post when I'm still fifteen. 'Cause in less then seven hours I'll be sixteen, yeaahh! Spent my last day as a 15-year old drinking ice macchiato and eating chocolate éclairs. So it was a good day. But still, I'm looking forward to tomorrow :)

The leaves will turn again

Terwijl ik mijn caramel cappuccino drink, scroll ik nog maar eens door een map met foto's van de herfstvakantie van dit jaar, in Oostenrijk. Sommige vind ik zo mooi. Ik wil ze jullie ook graag laten zien. Oostenrijk is zo'n mooi land. En het leek wel zomer. 

Ik zou willen dat ik daar weer was.

Wat vind je van de foto's?

While drinking caramel cappuccino, I was scrolling through a map with pics taken in the autumn holidays this year in Austria. I love some of them really a lot. So I wanted to show you them as well. Austria is such a gorgeous country. And the weather was summerlike. Wish I was there again.

Austria - Kaffee und Kuchen

Terug van een fantastische vakantie in Oostenrijk. Mijn dagen waren gevuld met wandelen in de bergen, zwemmen in het zwembad, lezen terwijl ik bruin werd and versgebakken taart eten. Een van de leuke dingen aan Oostenrijk is 'Kaffee und Kuchen'. Iedere dag rond 4 uur konden we buiten in de zon genieten van een heerlijk stuk taart. Natuurlijk heb ik de bakker naar de recepten gevraagd, in het Duits :P. Inspiratie genoeg dus voor de komende tijd! Nu eerst een aantal foto's van de Kaffee und Kuchen.

Back from amazing holidays in Austria. My days were filled with hiking in the mountains, swimming in the pool, trampolining, reading while getting tanned and eating freshly baked cake. I enjoyed it so much! One of the good things of Austria is 'Kaffee und Kuchen'. Everyday around 4 o'clock we could enjoy a delicious piece of cake in the sun. Of course I asked the baker for the recipes, in German :P. Inspiration enough for the future! Now first some pictures of the Kaffee und Kuchen.

Cookie Girls

Heee, it has been a long time since my last post. I was just relaxing on the beach, having fun with my friends and partying. Anyway, since the weather is aweful right now I cannot even spend my time outside... This morning I got my school report so I'm finally done. Yay! (: 

Every year we do a activities day on school and this year the theme was 'festival'. So I baked cookies the evening before and surprised everybody with them. 

The pic was just token a bit too late, the cookies were already gone xd.

Last time I baked these cookies, everybody loved the freshness of the marmelade combined with the sweetness of the cookiedough. So I thought these were perfect for a festival.

Barbe à papa

Holidaaaaaaaaaaaaaaays! Yay, I'm so happy. One week, totally free of school. So my friends and I decided to give it a great kick of by going to a huge fair. The fair was awesome, lots of nice attractions and it smelled so sweet. And 'cause we couldn't resesit the little stall with huge colourful candy floss, we ended up having sticky fingers (:

Ohh, and yeah, my hair was all wet and wouldn't go in it's place anymore, ike you see in the picture above. Thanks to the some fairground attraction were small fountains made us totally wet. 

And as you can see, even the sun broke trough. So our holidays couldn't start better at all. And after having a lot of fun, we went to an adorable pizzaria in the centre, Black Beauty. We ate there a couple of times, and it never get boring. There's only one man running the tiny restaurant and he bakes delicious pizzas. It was hard to decide which pizza to get, but I decided to have one with salmon. Great choice.

Today the weather is so horrible, only rain... Maybe I could bake cake or something. Anybody a great idea and recipe?

Ps. I also came across a picture of my team getting the cup can medals, last Thursday. We all  made three stars on our tenue because now we're the champions three times in a row (:

Happiness to the top!

Dear everyone,
I'm really really happy. I can give you some reasons.

• Since an hour I've got mini-holidays, 5 days free time. Time to have fun with my friends!
• Immediately when I came home I saw this grey packege, not that big, not that small. I opened it and it was... the GLAMOUR! I read the French Glamour because I think it's a lot more fashionable then the Dutch one. And the France is always one step ahead.
•  A week ago I wrote an article for Girlscene. And now it's published. It makes me very proud. Underneath are a lot of comments like 'Really like this post' and 'Nice article'. It gives me really a warm glow inside my body!

French Gateau Breton & Dutch Buttercake

Dear friends,


Last week I was in Bretagne, France. I really loved it there. We walked a lot over the beautiful coast. I've also swum in the Atlantic Ocean. The waves were huge so it was a lot of fun. The water was so clear and blue. It was one of the best holidays ever. I wish I was still there!


So what has all this to do with my blog? Bretagne is kinda famous for its "Gâteau Breton", which is exactly what I'm gonna make this afternoon ! I'm looking forward to it! And so is my brother...
I know it's a bit like the Dutch "boterkoek" (buttercake). And I'm kinda professional with that cake, haha. I made it over a million times. With a lot of variations .

• Rasperry-marmelade
• Orange-marmelade
• Coco-rasp (very nice when it's mixed with marmelade)
• Tutti Frutti
• And a lot of other variations
