Amsterdam: museum of bags & purses

In Amsterdam zijn, naast fantastische winkels, ook een heleboel bijzondere musea. Bijvoorbeeld het Tassenmuseum. In het het centrum van Amsterdam, in een prachtig historisch grachtendpand, is de gaafste collectie totes, clutches en rugzakken tentoongesteld. Omdat het weer eindelijk weer iets beter was, ben ik er vandaag heen gefietst, om erachter te komen dat dit echt een van de vetste musea is waar ik ooit ben geweest. Vanaf het moment dat je de eerste expositieruimte binnenloopt, wordt je in de wereld van de tas gezogen. Van een schattige 18e eeuwse clutch met kraaltjes, tot het klimop-tas die ooit van Madonna was. Het is awesome!

In Amsterdam are, next to great shops, also a lot of special museums. For example this Museum of bags & purses. In the centre of Amsterdam, in a beautiful historical canalhouse, is shown the most amazing collection of totes, clutches and backpacks. Since the weather was a bit better today, I cycled to Amsterdam to discover this museum is one of the most amazing ones I've ever been to. From the moment you step in their first exhibition you get sucked in the wonderful world of bags. From a cute beaded clutch from the 18th century to ivy-bag Madonna once wore. It's awesome! 

One of the most amazing bags was this cupcake-bag Judith Leiber, 2007. It's covered in tiny Svarovski diamonds. Isn't this glamour to the max?

Something totally different today on my blog. No cake, cookies or brownies, but certainly as delicious: pudding! And to be a bit more specific, a semolina pudding with shaved almonds and forest fruit sauce. Sounds fantastic, tastes even more fantastic. Your mouth is watering straight away? Lazy Baker

Yep, ook ik heb soms wel zin in taart, maar niet in ingewikkeld gedoe. Dan maar niet bakken? Zeker niet! Ik heb een kwarktaart mix gekocht en hier mijn eigen draai aangegeven. Superlekker, en absoluut niet moeilijk.

Omdat de mix naturel was, kon ik de helft van het water vervangen door sinaasappelsap. Versieren met schijfjes sinaasappel: hoppa, een heerlijke kwarktaart!

Yep, even I am sometimes longing for cake, but not for a lot of fuss. Then just leave the baking? Certainly not! I bought a cheesecake mix and gave it my own touch. Superdelicious, and absolutely not difficult.

Because the mix was natural, I could replace half of the water by orange juice. Decorate it with slices orange: hoppa, a lovely cheesecake!

Er is iets dat ik al sinds vrijdag wil vertellen. Dus, tussen het partyen en studeren door heb ik nu eindelijk wat tijd gevonden om het te bloggen. Vrijdag kwam ik heel laat thuis uit school. Toen ik de deur opende, vertelde mijn moeder dat een een soort mysterieus pakketje voor mij was gekomen. Helemaal glanzend zwart en geen ekel spoor van een afzender. Ik opende het en las het briefje. Het was van ONLY! Het bleek dat mam hen een link had gestuurd van de post (click!) waarin in mijn boeken had gekaft met hun papieren tassen (dankjewel mam!). Ze vonden het super en wilde me bedanken.

There's something I've wanted to tell you since Friday. So, between the partying and studying in, I found some time to blog it now. Friday afternoon I got home from school very late. And when I opened the door my mum said some kinda mysterious packet had come for me. It was all shiny black and no sign of the sender. So I opened it and read the note that came with it. It was from ONLY! It seemed like my mum had sent a link of my post (click!) about me covering my books with their paperbags (thanks to mum for that!). They loved it and wanted to thank me.

Graphic print nails

Laura, mijn lieve vriendinnetje, heeft een awesome nailart boekje gekocht voor mij in Londen. Ik zou haar nog een paar keer moeten bedanken & knuffelen, want ik ben er heel blij mee! Gisteren besloot ik een van de grafische printjes te gaan maken. Het heet Basketcase, met een heleboel streepjes. Het enige wat je nodig hebt is een vaste hand en twee kleuren nagellak. Het mooiste resultaat krijg je als je voor de streepjes een heel dun kwastje gebruikt, een striper.

Laura, a dear friend of mine, bought me this really cool nailart booklet in London. I should thank & hug her another few times, 'cause I absolutely like it! And yesterday I decided to do one of the graphic prints. It's called Basketcase, and includes lots of stripes. You just need a steady hand and two colours of nailpolish. You'll get the best result when you use a really thin brush for the stripes, a striper.

Mochachino-brownies with mocca sauce

Tijd om het eerste weekend te vieren! En wat mag er dan niet ontbreken? Juist, brownies :D Dit is misschien een recept waar je iets langer voor nodig hebt, dan de recepten die ik normaal post. Maar het resultaat mag er absoluut zijn. Super super lekker.

First weekend: celebrate it! And what is impossible to miss? Yeah, brownies :D So maybe this is a recipe that will take you a little longer then the recipes I normally post. But the result will be there. Super super delicious.

Chic, la rentrée: DIY

Vanochtend stond ik eigenlijk nog helemaal op met een vakantiegevoel. Rustig opstaan, brood toasten, kopje thee... Maar dat was vrij snel over toen ik weer op school was, mijn rooster kreeg en vervolgens mij boeken moest gaan kaften. Anyway, ik heb wel een vet ideetje voor als je nog een boek (of twintig xd) moet kaften.

This morning I woke up, still totally in the holidays-mood. Waking up very slowly, toasting my bread, cup of tea... But that feeling was kinda fast gone when I came back at school, got my timetable and then I had to cover my books.  Anyway, I have a great idea for if you still have to cover a book (or twenty xd). 

Toen ik laatst een truitje bij de Only kocht, kreeg ik deze vette kartonnen tas. Twee jaar geleden heb ik al mijn boeken gekaft met plastic zakken. Dat was ook echt heel gaaf geworden (ik was er wel echt kapotlang mee bezig). Dus leek het me nu ook wel vet om deze Only-tassen te gebruiken. Het is helemaal niet moeilijk. Je knipt de tas in grote stukken, zoals normaal papier. En kaften maar!

Last time I bought a sweater in the Only, I got this really cool paperbag. Two years ago I covered all my books in plastic bags. That was awesome (but it really took me an awful lot of time). So it seemed a great idea to me to cover my books with the Only-bags. It's not difficult at all, just cut big pieces for the cover, like you do with normal paper. And then start covering your books!

Gaaf idee he? // Awesome idea, isn't it?
