Cookie Girls

Heee, it has been a long time since my last post. I was just relaxing on the beach, having fun with my friends and partying. Anyway, since the weather is aweful right now I cannot even spend my time outside... This morning I got my school report so I'm finally done. Yay! (:

Every year we do a activities day on school and this year the theme was 'festival'. So I baked cookies the evening before and surprised everybody with them.

The pic was just token a bit too late, the cookies were already gone xd.

Last time I baked these cookies, everybody loved the freshness of the marmelade combined with the sweetness of the cookiedough. So I thought these were perfect for a festival.

And for now: summerholidaaaaaaays! (:

Think I'm gonna look for a recipe to celibrate the real freedom. If anyone has a good one, please tell me xx

Chocolate Cake & Pearls

Two of my friends are 1,5 year together, so... time for a party! I wanted to give them something special, and since I like to bake chocolate cake, I made one for them. With a little shiny love-decoration (:
By the way, it's one of the easiest cakes ever, but super sticky. I love it. I've had a lot of success with this cake on bdays and other special occassions. Or just in the middle of the week xd.

You need:
  • 300 gr dark chocolate
  • 200 gr butter
  • 3 à 4 tablespoons coffee powder
  • 4 eggs
  • 200 gr brown sugar
  • 150 gr self-raising flour
  • a bit of chocolate for the heart, but I just did that intuitive. You can just use as much as you like. Of course you can make every shape you want.
  • silver and gold pearls

1. Melt the butter and the chocolate

2. When the it's become a smooth chocolatebutter, add the coffee powder

3. Stir the eggs until you see bubbles.

4. Add the brown sugar and the little bit of salt.

5. Add the chocolate/coffee-butter to the eggs.
And sieve the flour trough it.

6. Cover the tin in baking paper.
Do this with cuts in the sides, like you see in the picture.

While you cover the tin, preheat the over on 175°C.

Bake the cake for 30 minutes.
Cool it down in the fridge, to make it sticky, yum yum!

And then the final pic, the result.
PADADAPADAPAAAM...

Isn't it cute?

The cake was delicious, if I can say it myself... My friends loved it, so I guess I can :D The party was great. We could sit outside all night. I enjoyed it a lot!

Freeeeedom!

I've just had two great summerdays behind me. Freeeeedom! (: Monday, I had my last two tests and after we cycled straight to the beach to enjoy our freedom. One of my friends had a waterproof camera with her. Really, it's awesome to make pics while crashing in the huge waves.
This morning I had a huuuge sleep in. It made me pretty happy, till I saw my face in the mirror: I looked like a little cute strawberry x) So much sunburn... Anyway, had a lovely day with Maartje.

We made some arty boxes, amazing. All you need is an old box and a couple of mags. My theme was black&white madness, Maartje's box totally reminds me of beautfiful summerdays. See here the result:

Do you like them??

And then we celebrated are freedom even more, in the garden... xd.

Tomorrow I'm gonna drop my books at school, never to look back in them, :D Until I get new ones after summerholidays...

Soft pink whale

Friday: great start of my weekend: lying in the grass, sun in my face, working on a piece of soapstone. In Dutch it is speksteen. It took me a while to found the English. Seems to be a not that common word xd. Anyway, I made a little whale. It's cute, I like it.
