From the Sidewalk to the Catwalk

Gisteren gingen we met de Frans klas naar een tentoonstelling over Jean Paul Gaultier. Echt fantastisch! In de Kunsthal in Rotterdam waren heel veel creaties van de mode-ontwerper te zien. De gezichten waren vaak op de poppen geprojecteerd en ze bewogen dus ook: een beetje bizar, maar wel erg gaaf. Er was zelfs een echte catwalk waarop prachtige jurken tentoon werden gesteld, allemaal uit Gaultier's cancan-periode. Natuurlijk heb ik ook de legendarische korsetten van Madonna gezien! 

Ik vind Jean Paul Gaultier een hele gave artiest. Behalve kleding heeft hij bijvoorbeeld ook een geluidstrack gemaakt. Hij is provocatief en origineel. Als je toevallig (of minder toevallig) in Rotterdam bent, zou ik zeker naar de tentoonstelling 'The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier, From the Sidewalk to the Catwalk' gaan!

From the Sidewalk to the Catwalk

Yesterday we went to an exhibition about Jean Paul Gaultier with our French class. Really fantastic! In the Kunsthal in Rotterdam were a lot of creations of the designer to be seen. The faces were often projected on the dolls, so they moved: slightly bizar, but awesome. There was even a real catwalk on which dresses were exhibited, all from Gaultier's cancan-period. Of course I saw the Madonna's legendary corsets as well!

I think Jean Paul Gaultier is an awesome artist. Except designing clothes he made for example a soundtrack as well. He's provocative and original. If your by accidence (or not by accidence) in Rotterdam, I'd certainly go to the exhibition 'The Fashion World of Jean Paul Gaultier, From the Sidewalk to the Catwalk'!
