Last night was bizarre. A few times a year it's possible to see Sea Sparkle, also know as noctiluca scintillans. After a hot day, there are free-living non-parasitic marine-dwelling species on the coast of the Nordsea. It was for sure that I wanted to see that! At midnight I was splashing in the sea to see little sparkles everywhere around me. Amazing. The best part was when I started to swim. All around me were tiny sparkles. It looked a bit like underwater fireflies. Or like someone hung fairy lights in the sea. The English name See Sparkle says it all, doesn't it sound magical?
Wauw!
I was too dazed to make my own pics. And honestly, it was way too awesome to swim trough all the fairy lights. But actually I think everybody should see it for real some day! When I think about last night, I almost cannot believe it... Wow!
